A native of Nashville, TN, Tracey is a marketing strategist with 28 combined years of media management, brand development, social media, and public relations experience at the Colgate Palmolive Company, New York Times Company and several Chicago and New York-based public relations agencies. In 2016, Tracey founded Tracey Royal Communications, LLC, where she works with clients in Television, Sports, Real Estate and Higher Education sectors.
Meet Tracey Royal
Tracey’s been featured on the Today show, MSNBC’s “Your Business” show, Inc.com and www.nbcnews.com. She is two-time (2019, 2020) recipient of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. South Eastern Region’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award. She is a 2020 Nashville Athena award nominee, which honors women for excellence in their profession, community and mentoring. She’s been awarded Colgate Palmolive’s National “Hall of Fame” top sales award, three “Chairman’s You Can Make A Difference” awards and two “Becoming the Best” awards. She was honored with the 2005 Spelman College Alumnae Achievement award and installed in the institution’s Archives for Excellence in Business.Â
Tracey is a life member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Upsilon Psi Omega Chapter where she currently serves as the parliamentarian and chairs the Public Relations and Constitution and Bylaws committees. She also serves on Alpha Kappa Alpha South Eastern Region’s History Committee. She’s a Charter member and parliamentarian of the new Nashville Chapter of the Charms, Incorporated organization. She also chairs the Marketing Ministry at Howard United Congregational Church. In 2012, she was ordained as a deacon at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New York.
Tracey is a cum laude graduate of Spelman College and Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, with a B.A. in English and M.S. in Integrated Marketing Communications. She later completed the executive program at Syracuse University’s School of Sales and Marketing Management.
She is a certified fitness instructor, licensed to teach Zumba and Dance Blast classes. Prior to the Covid-19 Quarantine, she taught at the Christ Church YMCA in Nashville, TN. During the quarantine, she offered three months of free virtual classes to provide a sense of wellness, community and connection. Her popular class continues today.
